I just updated my computer today and now the control panel is empty in Garage Band. It's like that for every track in every project. The EQ panel still shows up correctly, it's just the Controls that are gone.
Anyone know how to get this back?

Yes the instruments are still installed/Download Essential Sound is greyed out. Everything is exactly the same except for the controls disappearing

Are the instruments still installed? You may want to check, if the command "GarageBand > Sound Library > Download essential sound" is available, or if it is greyed out. If the commend is available, you may need to install the the essential sounds.
Even though I updated my iMac yesterday it said there were updates for 5 of my apps, GarageBand being one of them. All of them were able to update but when I try to click update for GarageBand I get this message:
I am on the account page, there used to be an accept button there. I clicked it and it went away, but that message is still popping up when I try to update GarageBand.
