Why do songs become unavailable on Apple Music?

Hi all

Having some issues with Apple Music. I get the message "This song is not currently available in your country or region" when it's added to a playlist. However, searching for the song in Apple Music allows me to play it.

The playlist is fine on iTunes on MacOS, don't have any issues playing from there. I haven't changed region, but I have just re-subscribed to Apple Music after having about a year off from it.

Any ideas?

Quite frankly the second part of your answer is quite absurb. Suppose your in France, buy a bottle of wine, put it in your suitcase, and bring it home. Suddenly the bottles are recalled. Not because there is glass in the bottle, and not because the wine is poisoness, but instead simply because the maker of the wine decides they weren't paid enough by the stores that sold them.

Yes, I'd like to see the winery get you to return the bottle, especially if you already drank it.

Still Apple Music and iCloud, have sort of solved that problem. Paying for music, we can't listen to, is just another example of the music industries, and apples greedy hand.

Over 2500 of my hand picked songs from 15-20 yrs ago are unavailable to play on my portable devices. But I can play them on my Mac Desktop computer only 1 yr old (music library recently transferred). All from my own purchased CD collection, which is really old, uploaded into iTunes Library. What is really going on ?!?!

I have the same problem, all my music is from my CD's. Apple have deemed hundreds of tracks aren't available on my ipod touch,

This is the 1st ever Apple product I've bought (and now the last) I've re-synced, deleted, reinstalled etc. but nothing works

Only had the ipod for 4 days - glad it was second hand, going to sell it and use my old phone as the portable player

In that case they I have to also assume that apple has not commented to any of the users on the forum as well since I've seen only one response that gave a apple provided reason, their ipad was still under warranty, which was complete BS and frankly irrelevant.

If a user of the forum contacted Apple, that would have been different. You're free to contact Apple if you want to discuss the matter with them. Use the Contact Support link at the top right of every page of these forums.

I have another problem. I love the soundtrack from the Tron: Legacy movie and I cannot download the album because it’s not available in my country. I mean what’s the problem are we not paying the same like US? In my country IPhones a a lot more expansive and the monthly subscription is more expensive as well in my country if we will compare the salary from US and my country, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM APPLE?!!!

I have a huge CD collection, NOT pirated music. This never used to be an issue, and with only certain songs on a CD. This seems like Apple’s way of getting people to buy tracks from them, which is extortion. The Apple sites say it was the artist or the record company who have retracted the rights, but I haven’t been able to verify this in a non-Apple site. This is total BS. Apple, do you really need more money??

I was told by an Apple rep that the rights have changed on some songs either by the record companies or the artists. This makes no sense as the issue of “grayed out” songs happens with only certain cuts on any given CD and not the entire CD. This seems unlikely as with other brands if electronics this does not happen. So the explanation of @music rights” seems to be a moot point.

im going to try to resume my two devices. Thanks for your suggestion.
