Number keypad during automated phone call directory (IE "for customer service, press 1") DOES NOT WORK

I have an iPhone X and for certain automated phone menus, they do not recognize my entries. For example, "press 1 for customer service" and I push 1 with great fervor and hundreds of times and it does not recognize my entry and continues delivering the menu options in my ear. It is infuriating and it literally means that I cannot cancel a subscription that I have, and in the past I have been unable to even call my kids' pediatrician. I have tried it from an XR as well. No dice. In this day and age of most folks not having landlines anymore, this is NOT OK. Help!!

iPhone X, iOS 12

The keypad is disabled after you make a call until the called number sends an "answer supervision" signal. Some phone systems don't do this correctly, and the result is what you have experienced. Are you dialing the number, or using a contact? If you are not using a contact create a contact for the number you are calling and see if using that fixes the problem.

I think you might be able to manage your subscriptions yourself, directly from your phone.

Open up the App Store, click on your user icon on the upper right corner, then select Manage Subscriptions.

However, I do agree that there are some issue with the automated phone menus... I've seen them, too. Not sure who's in charge of that, but yeah, that looks like a bug. :)
