Google keeps requiring password and authentication in Safari?

Recently upgraded to new MacBook Air with 10.14.4 Mojave and the new (and quite annoying) MacMail.

My domain is (currently) hosted with Google, normally once I have added the password it's fine unless the password changes in previous devices and OS.

Now it asks me for password every time turn my machine on or re-start. And today, it's asking me to 'authenticate in Safari'. Not just when I started up this morning, but when I'd been away from the machine for 40 mins.

It's quite annoying, as my password is long and in an encrypted vault, so it's a process to do each time, really interfere with workflow.

Is this a Mac issue or something I need to take up with Google?

Cheers,

Nick

Read If Mail on your Mac keeps asking for your password which specifically addresses Google Mail.

Sometimes, it's easiest to remove the problematic email account(s), and add them again. Refer to Add or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support. Follow the instructions under "Remove an email account", and if you really want to continue using Google for your email service, add it again.

If you are required to use Google, then yes you should probably contact them: Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support
