Circuit Explore Air will not connect via Bluetooth to any iOS device!

I was given a never used but previously owned Cricut Explore Air that works great when physically connected to my MAC Book, however the device will not pair with any of my three iPads, nor my iPhone nor the MAC via Bluetooth. The Cricut shows up as an available accessory in my Bluetooth settings but it will not pair with Any IOS device we own. Anyone else ever encountered this issue?
