I get notices from apple that my account has been locked, and requesting credit card info and SS# along with personal info. Does Apple ever sent out notices that your account has been locked?

Told go to https://apple https://apple and verify my account
Is there a way I can check my account? I received an email asking if I used my account in NJ then the email above. I don’t believe Apple would ask for my social security #
