My dictation was working fine until I did the latest update last night. Suddenly this morning, everything I dictate is being duplicated. If someone could suggest a fix it would be very much appreciated.

Good luck finding a solution to that issue, I first sent it to engineering in November 2018 and every few months I check on the case only to be told engineering and he is still working on it.. Since the last update in April 2020 it has gotten considerably worseand every few months I check on the issue only to be told the engineer and he is still working on it.. Since the last update it has gotten considerably worse and I tell them that Engineering is a black hole as they never come back with any results. As you can see I'm very frustratedand I tell them that Engineering is a black hole as they never comes back with any results.

As you can see I'm very frustrated and have three cases now sitting in front of engineering with no expected conclusion date. This is BS...

As you can see double dictation is very much alive in this comment

My advice would be to contact Apple tech support, but do not expect a resolution as I have been having the same issue for almost a year and a half with her no resolution in sight. I primarily use dictation on my Mac and 90% of the time it doubles everything up.

I too do not see any settings to change things on my iPhone...

It just did it.

Yes even happens in Google and WhatsApp also on a regular basis & like the previous respondent said it duplicates after you've double check the message & pushed the send button. In those cases the respondent gets a duplicate message and wonders what we were drinking LOL. It's not a laughing matter though...

This is BS and Apple either can't or won't fix the issue.

This is not what we paid for when we purchased an Apple product...

I have found the best way to approach this issue is to manually type something as soon as you can after finishing your dictation. This Will stop the duplication, but it's still a royal pain in the *** and not what we paid for when we purchased an Apple product.

At the moment I have five software related cases sitting in front of engineering with no resolution to any of them in sight.

The oldest is the dictation issue which has been ongoing for over a year and a half.

It's hard to believe, but it seems like Apple doesn't really care to fix the issue...

I recently started using dictation and I reviewed all of the suggestions here. There is no fix. It occurs in all applications but particularly Safari. I'm using Mohave but it seems to occur in everything since High Sierra. Adding an extra character after each sentence does seem to help. that means I have lots of double spaces now. I guess that's not the worst.

Well I think I fixed it, I've been having this problem for months without any solution I was reading the comments people were saying go to accessibility and turn off voice control, my voice control had not ever been turned on but I turned it on and used it once or twice and then turned it back off and now the duplication of text when usingWell I think I fixed it, I've been having this problem for months without any solution I was reading the comments people were saying go to accessibility and turn off voice control, my voice control had not ever been turned on but I turned it on and used it once or twice and then turned it back off and now the duplication of text when using dictation has stopped, finally I think this is a real solution 😐😐😐😐 I can 😐go back to using Safari I had been using brave I 😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐

As you note, I'm seeing this in Safari, specifically dictating email in Gmail web UI. I get whole sentences or sometimes just freezes duplicated.I get whole sentences or sometimes just freezes duplicated. <-- Oh, and here too! Oddly I've seen a similar problem occasionally in Spark mail app for iOS, but that somehow resolves itself after a few days. <sigh>
