Thanks! I think that's a fix for some of us; alas, not all of us. Glad it worked for you!

I've had to switch to chrome for things I want to dictate (yick!) and it would be nice if Apple could fix this issue at the root for *their* browser. (Rant not directed at you, ChristinaIT! I'm just grumpy that so many of us have this issue, and for some of us, it's not really fixable...just "avoidable")

The same thing is happening to me and it happens everywhere not just in Safari. It happens in Gmail, notes, etc. The same thing is happening to me and it happens everywhere not just in Safari. It happens in Gmail, notes, etc.

well, well. There you have it!

This bug renders the dictation app completely useless. It’s been happening with me for at least six months. Why can’t Apple get their act together and fix this bug?

The only place I have found where it doesn’t seem to occur is inside WhatsApp?

I am so sick of this issue and have been over this with several people at Apple. It keeps happening every time I text and there seems to be no answer in the near future. Apple put a recording device on my phone for me to record when it starts happening but it never happens when I want it to.

why isn’t Apple fixing this problem for us? This is a big pain in the neck.

im having this issue with my mums iPhone and mac atm. Most things she say get duplicated (she likes to dictate long messages!). her ipad occasionally does it. Anyone found anything that fixes it yet? So annoying when trying to reply and her long messages are duplicated. Shes told me she doenst press anything to start the message but does at the end? I don't use Siri so looking for advice thanks

I agree with everything you said. Apologies if you mistook my original reply. I’m having all the problems you are actually. I just happen to recognize mine mostly when I use the email client for replying to emails. It happens in text messages as well. My main annoyance is wondering if Apple even looks at these discussion logs for this kind of data. I’ve been frustrated with this And I’m surprised that this has been discussed plenty of times on their own forum, that you would think by now that they would test this and apply a fix with one of their releases.

As far as I understand it, having participated in these forums since their inception, Apple does not regularly monitor discussions which are strictly for user-to-user support. We might luck out sometimes and have some enterprising employee who is interested, but don't count on it.

Edit to add: on the other hand, I just ran across this option in my profile preferences: "Get notified when your answer is marked as helpful, solves a question, or is recommended by Apple." That sort of implies, at least, that somebody from Apple is paying attention. One can hope.
