mail disconnecting from gmail

I did go to AppleCare on Sunday. Disgust at repeatedly trying, failing, to fix; seeing long threads on both Google & Apple community boards; I was unwilling to go further. i.e. ready to quit Google altogether, find different search engine, tell everyone on 2 gmail accounts that I'd switched addresses.

Both the 1st line tech & the senior advisor were surprised to hear about my/our-all issue. Are problem message boards just whistling in the wind? One would think that such large volume would somehow slop over into Apple/Google consciousness.

Bottom line: the engineers are now working on it. I've decided to wait a while (SrAdv off till Thur) & then check in to see what the engineers have accomplished in the meanwhile. Just hold on for now, I guess.

Thanks for that. BTW earlier had major problems with AOL requesting login PW repeatedly (I run both AOL and Gmail) but that seems to have normalized. My hunch is it's a Mojave glitch . Will standby...

Who's your ISP? It probably offers mail accounts (that's my main account, where would have switched both gmail accounts, & still may). I'm also unhappy AppleMail doesn't have multi-accounts, but I have to accept that's not their within their realm--unlike Google, which seems trying to become überEntity, with more areas from which to derive identifiers for salable portfolio.

Having the same problem, which worsened today. Now I cannot get gmail on my iPhone, in addition to my MacBook.

Started when I was forced to "reconnect" my gmail - the exclamation mark triangle in Apple Mail directed me to Safari where I ha to reconnect the accounts. Now that option isn't even working. Aargh! Will follow this convo to see if anything positive appears.

I spent a few hours with Apple support and seemed to rectify things only to have all systems , Mac, MacBook, and iPhone, continue to behave erratically. Will try again with the support team again when I have hours to spare. Main issue is mailbox disconnecting and also not fetching mail until I close mailbox and re-open every time. This is nuts. When waiting for important emails I have to continually open, re-open, re-open, re-open....... Can't understand why they have no fix yet.

Same problem here, it started 2 3 weeks ago. I have searched everywhere and I haven't found any solution yet.
