How to identify devices on my network from ip address?
I want to name the devices on my network, but am unable to identify two of them.
I am using Airport Extreme and iMac with other Apple devices which I already know.
iMac 21.5", macOS 10.14

By default, your AirPort Extreme will provide dynamic local IP addresses to both wireless and wired clients on your network. Being dynamic, these will change over time. Are these devices that you are not aware of that are connecting to your network or ones that you know but want to know what IP address was assigned to them?
There are a number of apps out there that can help identify the device that is connecting. One of them is iNet Network Scanner.
Thank you. I got iNet Network Scanner and was able to see the makers of all my devices, and recognise the two devices which I have now labeled. I am also relieved that no one else was using my network. Thanks again!
Go into your devices network settings, and see which ones have those 2 IP addresses you cannot identify.
The thought of having to check the devices individually put me off trying, but your suggestion was helpful .
You're very welcome!
