Smart Annotations

I want to know how to turn this feature off in iOS 12.2 on an iPad mini 5th generation. I am using a third party handwriting keyboard in Pages and want to use the Apple Pencil to insert text in a document. At the moment I have to switch hands or put the pencil down to do this because tapping the screen with the pencil in Pages brings up the Smart Annotations Beta feature. Very frustrating.

Draw instead of swipe in notes ios 13 Hi there! I used to make notes with my apple pencil in the right hand and swipe through the document with my left hand. Since iOS 13 I can’t do that anymore. It has turned into drawing with the pencil on the right hand and drawing some more with the left hand, or I should turn of the writing by clicking the pencil icon in the right upper corner. But as soon as the pencil hots the ipad, the icon blinks on a again, and I can’t swipe before I deselect that same icon again. It is adding so much steps to going over a document, really not an improvement. Anyone an idea how I can shut this off?

iPadOS: pdf in files and Apple Pencil (1) Hello. In the past I used to be able to scroll with my fingers and annotate or highlight with my pencil. Ever since the new markup update, whenever I use the Pencil on my screen, it goes straight into markup mode. Then, when I use my finger, it annotates in stead of scrolling. I have to manually uncheck markup in the upper right corner before I can continue. The ease of scrolling and quickly annotating has been taken away by this change. Am I missing an option or doing something wrong? Or did Apple remove my favourite feature?

Thank you! The answer was not obvious but I did figure it out. I don't think I would have found that scroll setting on my own. Works exactly as I had hoped.
