Red dot blinking near my camera

Hello,

A weird thing happened to my phone recently. I received a call from a suspicious number from a foreign country, and after that i saw a red dot blinking near the camera. Suddenly, the phone automatically dialed on the same number without me even holding the phone!!!! It happened to 3 of my family members on 3 different iphones. This worried me a lot and i am afraid that they can access personal info. What does the red blink indicate? What is this problem due to? Is it the problem from my iphone or from the telecommunications company? I called and asked them and they said that no one has ever complained about such encounter.
