Home movies on iTunes

I load home movies, which live on my Mac, onto iTunes so that they can be viewed wherever I am on any of my Apple devices. If the internet is unavailable, can I still watch them through iTunes?

When did watching purchased iTunes movies off-line become so difficult? Why is it so damned difficult to watch movies I have bought from iTunes on my ipad, offline? It used to be easy - you'd download them to the ipad and there they were. Now it's so difficult and the instructions I have found on the internet don't help. About to go on a very long flight and wanted to ensure I had movies for my kids to watch. But seems to be near impossible...

You can certainly watch them on any device where they are stored even if that device is offline. If the Mac is acting as the source then might also be able to watch streamed over local Wi-Fi even if your router was isolated from the Internet.
