using MacPro 2010 for storage with new iMac

Is there a way to use my 2010 Mac Pro (working well on 1013.6) as a storage device with a newish 2018 iMac?

This support article shows what you need to do:


Use target disk mode to move files to another computer - Apple Support


Understand that when your MacBook Pro is in target disk mode it is no different than any external drive--all it does is stores. You cannot use it a a computer without leaving target disk mode and restarting normally.


If you need to use the MBP simultaneously with the iMac then you can use normal network file sharing to access the MBP's drive from the iMac.
