Wireless Apple CarPlay - difficulty maintaining connection

I have a 2019 BMW 330i, with wireless Apple CarPlay. No wired option is available. Apple CarPlay rarely works without issues, as the connectivity routinely drops. When starting the vehicle, it won't always pair with my phone, without me rebooting the phone or disabling CarPlay and re-enabling it. When it does work, it routinely will disconnect during a phone call or while listening to music. It appears many other users are having this same problem. I have tried troubleshooting this several times, to no avail. BMW has no idea how to fix. I can pair the phone to the car using BMW's iDrive connection (not using CarPlay), and the bluetooth connection works fine. I only have issues when I try to use CarPlay.

Verify your software is up to date. Settings>General>Software update

My best advise is try a "reset" of the iPhone and see if this sorts you issue:

reset http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430

if not try

restore from backup, restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
