Tried to restore an ipod that i bought. When i first time connected it to my laptop running wind 10 i got this: system does not recognize this usb device or device may not work properly. But it appeared in itunes. When i hit restore on i tunes my ipod is stuck and has an icon of dock connector. Now system and itunes dont see my ipod. I got apple cable, my other apple devices connect to itunes with no problem. how can i resolve this situation? Thanks!

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, ryslaw.

If I understand your post correctly, iTunes is not recognizing your iPod when it is connected. I’d like to help.

Hi Joseph!

Thanks for a reply! Tried that before to update the driver and did not work unfortunately but one thing is bothering me: in device manager i dont have apple mobile usb driver but other apple phones like Iphone SE and 8 work fine and they are visible in itunes and in windows. Can i download it separately? I ordered a new apple cable to connect it, maybe this is the problem;) Can i reset it without itunes?

Hi turingtest2!

I have done it few times and still does not work. I suspect that the culprit is a cable. That icon on my ipod means that i have to connect it to itunes? Can i restore it without itunes or maybe to put it in disk mode to get it work? Hmmm one of my friends got docking station, maybe i will connect it through it? Still have to wait for a new cable
