Hello, everyone. I am wondering why the "Files" app (the app icon is a blue portfolio with a white background, if you did not know) is taking up a significant amount of space - 977.7 MB in my case, which I consider substantial because my iPhone is a 16 GB version. The app size is 8 MB. Thanks in advance.

You can remove Documents & Data that is not required in the files app. You can save space. You can keep all files on iCloud Drive, Drop Box, One Drive, Google Drive etc.
What consumes space on Files app is the files stored in "On My iPhone"
