Importing photos from Canon Powershot G11 to iMac 27" Retina Mojave

When I try to import photos from my Canon Powershot G11to my brand new iMac Retina Mojave, I get a message: No camera detected.

I transferred all the files from my old iMac to the new one, including previous software and apps.

What do I need to do now?

iMac 27", macOS 10.14

Is your camera in the correct mode for downloading photos? And is it fully charged?

Have you tried to take the card out of the camera and use the card reader slot at the back of your Mac?

Thanks.

Using the card reader slot at the back of the iMac proved to be the only possible solution.
