Question

Red microphone icon on iPhone

I have a microphone icon on the top left off my lock screen.

It is under my signal strength so it is not in the status bar.

Never saw it before

Anybody seen this?

This was asked by someone back in February.

The fix they found was by turning off permissions one by one in Settings>Privacy>Microphone to see which app was putting the icon up. They never said which app it was.

But....I did it again, restarted the phone with all the microphone permissions turned off and it went.

When I turned all the microphone permissions back on the icon was gone...

So I guess it's fixed!

I saw that, and tried it, but no change. I thought the fix they mentioned was updating the software, but I'm up to date.

You can try turning them back on one by one with a reboot and a bit of time between each to see which one is the guilty party.
