Minecraft Viruses
I am worried that if I download Minecraft, on my new 2018 MacBook Air, that it will send viruses and I don't want that?
Does it give off viruses?

There are no known viruses that can infect a Mac. It's possible to download other forms of malware that may be piggybacked with an application. But this won't happen if you download from either TheAppStore or the site of a known developer. And Mac OS will warn you against doing that if you try.
