I cant get any sound to play on my sync my ford car stero. I have iphone x, its paired and i get calls thru but when i try playing music via blue tooth the songs are listed as playing but no sound. I have updated apps, repaired/sync phone and turned it off and still nothing

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today. It sounds like you aren't able to play music through Bluetooth on your car stereo.
Have a look at this article: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod doesn't connect to or work in your car and see the steps under "If you connect using Bluetooth". It is possible that you will need to contact Ford to find out if there are any firmware updates.
A great isolating step would be trying to play music using Bluetooth through another device or car stereo.
