My daughter has an iPad (with her own iCloud account)
Her cousin has a phone number through a third party app on an android device.
They are trying to text, but my daughter's iPad says her cousins number is not registered with imessage
.. I cannot figure out how to do this (as she does not have a lap top, she only has her apple id tied to her iPad).
Any suggestions?
Android devices cannot use iMessage on iPad. iMessage is for iOS devices only. Your daughters iPad can use continuity services however, IF she has an iPhone. If she does not have an iPhone, she will NOT be able to text anyone who has an Android phone from iPad.
