Two Sets of AirPods, two devices one iCloud account PROBLEM

Does any one know if it is possible to have one set of AirPods (A) connected to Mac Mini (Office) second set AirPods (B) connected to iPhoneXs using single iCloud account? I can connect a single pair. Seen on all devices. When I try to connect AirPods (B) to just the Xs I receive error unable to connect.

Brenden,

Thank you for the information, I am glad to say that the issue has been resolved. Seems the issue was w the Mac Mini not releasing the AirPods (1st Gen) I spoke w Bobby from Apple Support and he recommended that I reset the bluetooth adaptor on the Mini. <Shift+Option> + Click on the Bluetooth Icon to enter Debug then reset Bluetooth adaptor. Then I reset both sets of AirPods and then went through the set up again. Now I have both sets of AirPods connected on my Xs, Mini, MBPro and iPod Touch.

Thanks to all for the assistance.

Hi there J-Adow,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re having some issues connecting a second pair of AirPods to your Apple devices but are running into some issues. I’ll be happy to help with this.

You should be able to use 2 different sets of AirPods on your device. To verify, are the AirPods sharing the same name? If so, rename one set of your AirPods and see if this has any impact on the issue:

Adjust the settings of your AirPods

You may also need to reset your AirPods for this issue. If changing the name doesn’t work, reset them using the steps from this link and see if that helps:

Reset your AirPods

Once you’ve done those steps, go through ones provided in this article if you still have issues connecting your AirPods. Try the steps for each device as well:

If your AirPods won't connect

Let me know if any of those does the trick for you. I’ll be waiting to hear back from you.

Best wishes.
