Scrolling in WORD 16.20-16.26 builds

When scrolling in Word for Mac, 2016-2019 (don't know what it is called anymore) scrolling is glitchy and sometimes jumpy. I only have about 11 pages of text and a few pictures. It will scroll fine for a few minutes then it gets jumpy. This happens when saving the document and happens when scrolling. The activity monitor says that word is using significant energy when scrolling.

I have Macbook Pro 2015, 2TB SSD AURA OWC drive, 2.8 GHZ, 16 GB memory.

My old 2008 MacBook pro with word 2011 doesn't do this and scrolls fine. It is 2.6 GHZ, 6 GB RAM only, and 2TB SSD. I just don't understand why I purchase a 2000.00 computer and upgrade and the programs are slower, and more glitchy than using Mavericks.

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

I copied and pasted in Pages and IT IS PERFECT. No problems with scrolling. Clean, easy, nice. Even the pictures.

When I hold down shift key the computer just loads loads loads and never goes anything. The status bar fills up after 5 minutes and the screen just stays with an apple and status bar. Is that normal? When does the computer load in safe mode?

It still happens in safe mode. Word is glitchy with scrolling. Not all the time, but when saving the document or scrolling with pictures. Is anyone else experiencing this? Word 16.21, 16.22, 16.23, 16.24, 16.25, 16.26

I have also reinstalled High Sierra 3 times. Can someone please test this on their Macbook Pro? Make a document and place pictures in it, from PDF files. Add text and then scroll. What happens? It is perfect scrolling? Use Word 16.21-16.26 version.
