Apple Mail and AOL

I hope the solution is permanent. My problem reappeared a few hours later. This time, I deleted the AOL account and restored it as an "@mail" account rather than as an AOL account. We'll see if this works.

So far, so good. Setting it up as an "other" email account also allows you to see the mail server names and your password, etc.

It's now the better part of a day later, and AOL is still good. Installing the account as @email seems to have done the trick.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had already done it on my own—and it worked! It takes a few minutes for all the subsidiary AOL mailboxes to make their appearance, but they finally did. Also—Mail treats AOL accounts differently from others: you can't see the server names and there's nowhere to re-enter your password. I guess the account just got corrupted somehow.
