iphone x water damage???

I was swimming today and my boyfriend decided to throw my IPhone X into his in-ground pool. I swam over and got it immediately, it turned on and it was fine and it worked. I put it away so it wouldn't happen again, I came back maybe two hours later and my phone wont turn on. I've kept it rice for hours now and still nothing.
