On my iPhone 6+ I see an old email message that was long ago deleted via my laptop. I get an error message (cannot move to Trash) when I try to delete it from the phone. Have tried power down to no avail. I can move it to other folders and forward it but cannot move it to Trash.
Any suggestions would be welcome.

Most likely the message headers are corrupted. The first thing to try is to visit your email provider's webmail site and see if it is still there. If it is delete it. The next step, unless you have a POP account, is to delete the account in Settings/Passwords & Accounts then add it back. This will force a reload of all of your messages from the server, and if the message isn't on the server it won't come back.
