I'm having this same issue with my Mac Mojave.

This has been happening to me for a couple months and its driving me INSANE. I have Outlook in my launchpad and I swear to Christ I will start using it if this isn't fixed asap.

I hate this nerve wracking bug of Mail randomly popping up on Mac Mojave. Why isn’t it being fixed. It’s been ongoing for months.

I'm a developer too - noticed it within 5 minutes of updating Mojave and its driving me insane ever since ! :)

I've never seen it until this iteration of Mojave - we're developers so little nagging bugs set us off pretty easily.. :)

disabling gmail calendar notifications did the trick for me. Stable for 2 weeks and counting

I'm having the same issues. It's particularly annoying when you're in a full-screen app and Mail opens in split view...

As stated above, this “fix” does not work for most users. Way to go Apple for leaving us out in the rain with a known issue trying to ghetto rig our machines.

I do not use google calendar - its actually disabled in my G-Suite Console, we use Apple Calendar only. I do not see how this could effect mail if its disabled.

I turned off my Gmail in Mail's Accounts preference and logged into to Gmail on the web and set it to forward to my iCloud mail. There have been no Mail window pop-ups since.

That may work for a single non-business gmail account , but when you have multiple G-Suite accounts its not practical.
