Cant run Inkscape on Mac Sierra High

I my macbook air i try to run the inkscape app with the open option on the 2 tap menu, and after some verification it start to run with no problem.

But i try the same with my new macbook pro with the same MAC OS and it does not work. Try several times with the same result. launch xquartz, starts the inskscape app and close it.

The only Inkscape client available for macOS now is the one compiled from sources (with dependencies addressed), or built through the MacPorts package manager installation. The former will expect the last version of XQuartz which was in 2016 (v2.7.11), and the latter has an early Cocoa version that runs natively, or a more stable X11 dependent installation.


What KiltedTim said. I don't believe that the Inkscape developers actually support the product on macOS any more — certainly exclude a binary download now, and depend on the open source community through MacPorts to make it available for the Mac platform. There is no assurance that it will be compatible with macOS.
