fall detection called 911 false alarm

Put my watch down on a table to take a shower and EMS showed up, my watch had sent a false fall detection message to 911. Awkward & embarassing. I have turned off fall detection. Apple needs to fix this. There is such a thing as calling wolf.

False Apple Watch Fall detection alarms! I have a Apple Watch SE. I enabled the feature accidentally (i have 22 years and it didnt enable automatically). The only false alarm was today at 10:09 PM excactly When i was playing with ball. The ball hit my Watch and it tapped my wrist. I looked at it and fall detection got triggered. False fall detection on Apple watch My Apple Watch is fairly new about six months ago. I’ve had at least four false fault detection alarms. I’ve caught them each time and dismiss them but I’m concerned I might not be quick enough to do that. Once I was doing yoga and went from standing to sitting, no fall. Another time I was lying down on a PMF mat and it went off. Another time I was sitting and meditating. I don’t remember the fourth time. Once when I did actually fall. Nothing happened. I haven’t called them yet but I guess I should. What good is it if it doesn’t work properly?

Fall Detection is a software feature that can be tweaked over time. In this case, the Watch thought you had fallen and you missed the notification from it asking if you were ok.
