Can you disable crown volume controls on an Apple Watch 4?

Every time I go out for a mountain bike ride, during my descent, the volume of my music increases to max volume. I believe this is happening via the Apple Watch 4’s volume controls via the crown. Is there a way to turn off crown volume control functions?
