Does Apple's Keyboard Repair Program cover USED MacBook Pros?

Can someone tell me if Apple's keyboard repair program covers buying a USED MacBook Pro? Their webpage states up to four years after the "first" sale of the MBP, so that obviously suggests yes, but I'd like to be sure before purchasing a used 2018 MBP that I have my eye on. Thanks.

If the purchase date is on file with Apple then you are Ok. If the serial number is not on file with Apple, then Apple will use the date of manufacture for the warranty or free repair programs, unless you are able to provide the original proof of purchase which is unlikely for a used item. If you have access to the serial number before purchase, then you could check the warranty status on Apple's web site to see what Apple has on file.

Thanks. Adorama just replied to my query saying that a used MacBook is NOT eligible for the repair program. I'm sure they are wrong, but I'm a lot more hesitant go that route now. I suppose I could order it, then check the serial number (it's not on their website), and if it's not eligible, return it...but that'd be kind of a hassle.
