2 MacBook Pros - unattach/stop syncing

I have a MBP at home for personal and one at work. I got the home one yesterday and it's now just syncing to my work machine.

I didn't set up from a backup, I'm doing it selectively, and I noticed that all of my desktop files from work were on it. I deleted them all - and didn't delete trash just in case - and when I got in this morning, all those files are gone from my work machine.

I want 2 distinct machines, no crossover. How do I break this synching?

MacBook Pro 13”, macOS 10.14
