Notes overwritten by hotspot connection, how do I get them back?

My internet at home went down and I had to set up a mobile hotspot with my phone. No problem, I've done this before. However, for whatever reason, this time connecting to my mobile hotspot resulting in ALL OF MY NOTES being replaced with a single note I had saved in iCloud from an old iPhone back in 2014. At no point did my devices ask me if I wanted to synch my devices, or make sure if I wanted to override all of my notes.

How do I get my notes back? My MacBook is currently on Mojave (it was not before, back in the good old days when all of my photos and notes were not randomly over-ridden by the empty folders in my unused iCloud account--I've run into this issue before, but before I had started using notes).

MacBook Air 13", macOS 10.14

SOLVED IT *huge sigh of relief*

Here's what I did: with notes open, click "Notes," then "Accounts." Click iCloud Drive (it had become unselected in preference to synch with iCloud when I connected to my hotspot).

Viola, ALL MY NOTES are back *kisses them*
