Sharing photos between iPhone and macBook Air

I can mail drop or email NEW photos from my iPhone to my MacBook Ari, but not OLD ones I get the message "Unable to Share" any ideas, I've gone thru the usual shut off phone, shut off iCloud , look for low battery off.

Have you downloaded these photos from iCloud before turning it off?

If no, this is why you can't share them.

And why do you even email the photos? Use the Photos app with iCloud turned on.
