“Trust this computer” flashing

I have tried plugging my iPhone 8 Plus into my Mac laptop. My phone won’t charge because the trust my computer notifaction keeps flashing on my laptop and I can’t select trust as it’s flashing. I have updated my iTunes to the most recent version and am using an apple charging cord... please help!

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that when you connect your iPhone to a computer with iTunes you're seeing a prompt to "Trust This Computer" and are unable to unlock your device and tap trust. I am happy to help get you pointed in the right direction toward a resolution.


Base on the details you provided, I would recommend using another cable to see if the issue persists. I also recommend using another USB port if one is available.


Lastly, you can find some additional steps to take when iTunes isn't recognizing your iPhone here: If iTunes doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
