I've forgotten the password I set up the password I set up to manage my daughter's screen time on her phone. I read that if I erased my device and set it up as a new device it would reset the passcode but it didn't. Do I have to wipe out her phone as well? She doesn't want to unless we're sure it's going to work. Thanks

After erasing your phone and setting it up as new, did you restore it from a backup? If so, then you're back to square one.

No. I set it up as new. This procedure works to restore your personal passcodes but not the ones set up to manage a child's account. My daughter may be stuck with only an hour of screentime for eternity.
