I'm sure there are some people who are. I'm not. Use your iPhone for 72 hours then check Settings > Battery and see what processes/apps are using most of your battery. And check your battery health while you are there.

Yes, I had to call Apple Support and they had me make sure my phone was backed up on iCloud (I have it set to do a backup daily) and then do a factory reset. I then simply restored the latest backup, and phone was good to go within a few hours (how long it took for all the apps to re-download). The battery has been back to normal since then. Per the comment above this, I didn't have to downgrade to 12.3. I simply restored my backup with 12.3.1 and it has been fine.

The rep did tell me that they thought they had resolved all the issues with 12.3.1, but with all the people experiencing this same problem, that's clearly not the case.

Agreed on Apple and iPhone. I am starting to think about whether it's worth it anymore given how much more $$ the computers are, and how much better other phones are becoming...

Well you were lucky because when I first did it I did used my last backup but my phone started to overheat again so I had to restore it all over again and that’s when I decided to downgrade and not use the back up :/

i have 75 app and it took me around 3 hours to download all of them but also because my internet is one of the worst in the planet

I posted in this thread earlier that I had fast battery drain with iPhone 7 and update to 12.3.1. Tried to reset it and back it down to iOS 12.3. That failed. Then I started to lose my Verizon network. Could not get signal. Wasn't getting phone calls or most messages coming in. Total pain in the butt. Got lost using Google Maps gps too. Took the phone to Apple store. They said they believe it's the logic board. That will be replaced as well as the battery the tech thought even though the battery did not appear to be at issue. I have a loaner iPhone 6 running 12.3.1 without issue. So did 12.3.1 fry my logic board? Don't know.

Nop jejejej that’s what I’m saying I could use my backup because it was from iOS 12.3.1 , when u do a downgrade you can’t use a backup because we u start ur phone it and you select the option “ backup from iCloud” it will automatically download the last iOS version, see, and you will lose your downgrade :(

i didn’t restore it, I just download everything again re enter to my accounts and well the only bad is that I lose all my Whats app chats :(

dshunter1996 - Sorry I wasn't clear. I tried to reset to 12.3 but was unable for the exact reason you said. I did NOT have an iCloud backup at 12.3 so it would not let me go back. But in the process of attempting to go back it got worse. You must have an iCloud backup at a lower iOS if you want to go backwards. Otherwise you end up in a circular nightmare of logins and re-logins to nowhere.

I have the same issue, battery draining rapidly and charging more slowly. My phone is an iPhone 6S. I even went as far as to purchase a new battery for my phone because my old battery was operating at 80% capacity previously. My new battery is 2200 mAh and the old battery that came with my phone was 1700 mAh, so I should have roughly 23% better battery than before. However, with the new battery it seems to be draining twice as fast and charging twice as slow. My app usage it nothing compared to what it was before because I've been using it sparingly since I noticed the battery issue. I checked the battery app usage in the settings and it shows I may have a total of about 1 hours usage throughout the day across all of my apps (mostly background usage), yet I can't get through an 8 hour work day without my phone being completely drained before I head home. Ugh!!!

Well in my case all I did was not to use my backup at all, that’s what I’m saying, I put my iPhone on DFU mode, restore it with the iOS 12.3 version and I started it like a new iPhone, no backup no nothing, that way you can keep the downgrade but you lose your back up see :/ but I had to make that choice because I could keep using iOS 12.3.1, the problem became soooo badly that just with unlocking my phone it was already overheat :(

Well I still preferred a thousand times iPhone over Samsung, this problems happens all the time, if you think about , that’s why Iphone is always releasing small versions of iOS, this time well I was one of the millions of user that became affected by it, but for example, my dad has the exactly same iPhone the same color as me ahah xD and his phone is running perfectly fine whit iOS 12.3.1.

And although it can be a little bit tricky some time I was able to fix my iPhone all by myself by watching videos and fallow the advise of people that know way more than I do about this, I didn’t even have to take my iPhone to service with Android I think they are more complicated

I think what we could from now on is not update if your phone doesn’t need it, if it’s working fine with that iOS version and I have no problems at all I better not to update because normally that small updates that apple is constantly releasing are only to fix other problems, that maybe your phone didn’t have.

Of course when there it major update like the upcoming iOS 13 you can update

iPhone 7 and the 12.3.1 update killed my phone which just had the battery replaced prior to the update. Can't keep a charge and using bluetooth to stream music will kill the phone in an hour. Runs hot while in use and takes forever to charge now. Complete BS and Apple clearly doesn't do any sort of real life prerelease testing before pushing updates. I'm ready to say screw it and switch to another brand. Apple has more than enough money in the bank to afford proper development so this is inexcusable.

We have two iPhone X’s in our household. We installed iOS 12.3.1 before leaving on a month long vacation out of the USA on 6/5. One phone was affected by the same malady described in this thread. As we were traveling and had limited WiFi, we just endured the insanely quick battery drain on the one, using multiple battery packs to recharge along the day. There are no settings left untouched in an effort to correct this. We returned home over the weekend and I am now learning that this is a widespread problem. As Apple shareholders and longtime Apple computer owners, iPad owners and accessories owners, we too are rethinking Apple ownership. It has been over a month and there is no fix? Reset and re install all my apps? My time is valuable and I can buy another phone based on how much of my time this solution will take. Apple, you are asking a LOT from your customers to put up with these inconveniences.

I'm not a part of any beta test program. Thankfully, I still have yet to install this update. My phone is an iPhone 6, and the battery seems to drain a bit faster than it did six months ago. I can only imagine how it would hold up if I installed 12.3.1. There really is no excuse for this, as we consumers bought and/or will buy Apple products because of the quality phones, tablets, etc. that Apple is known for. I will not install this software update until I see enough posts here saying the issue has been corrected.
