A week ago my phone started malfunctioning. From resting flat on a table I lift it to see my face and I get the Swipe up to Unlock prompt. When I swipe up to unlock, it triggers another face id and then it returns to the swipe up prompt, and on and on. The only way I can get it out of the loop is to shut it down completely and restart. Help?

Try going to settings>general>reset>and reset all settings.
