swipe up to unlock triggers a face id and then nothing

A week ago my phone started malfunctioning. From resting flat on a table I lift it to see my face and I get the Swipe up to Unlock prompt. When I swipe up to unlock, it triggers another face id and then it returns to the swipe up prompt, and on and on. The only way I can get it out of the loop is to shut it down completely and restart. Help?

I’ve restarted, reset the Face ID, I’ve updated to 13.3.1 and still the issue persists. Tried all the quick fixes too, it’s really inconvenient. Isn’t the Face ID supposed to allow you to access your phone without using your hands??

Hello, face id don't activates when i take a device in hand. When i take a device in my hand, face id don't work and touch screen not workig. How i can reboot my device? Face ID reset not working - "position your face within frame" Hi, For the past two days or so I've noticed my iPhone 10S face ID is not working (nothing happens when I look at my phone, and after a few seconds it prompts me to enter my passcode). I restarted my device a few times but didn't help. I also updated to iOS 15.6, the latest version. I also cleaned my iPhone with a cloth. I tried resetting my face ID but it just says "position your face within the frame" and while I clearly did do so, it still says that and doesn't move on, or just says move phone lower/higher. My issue is this – why does it show "position your face" when it is positioned exactly within the frame? What can I do? Thanks!

Try going to settings>general>reset>and reset all settings.
