I can not conect my mac to my iCloud drive again

I had authentication issues with iCloud and signed out on my MacBook Air. Now I can't reconnect to iCloud drive! It says I have the wrong username or password. But if I go to my iCloud account from Safari via the web, I come in with the username and password. Now I have no files or folders on the desktop since everything is on iCloud drive. What should I do?!

Have you signed back in to System Preferences/iCloud? Is that where you are getting the error message?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.

Safe Mode - About

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. If the log won’t post, try posting it in Pastebin and provide a link in a reply        Pastebin

Hi, I've tried safe mode now and it worked. When I went back to normal login, it took about 10-15 minutes before I was ejected from iCloud.

I have all my files and images uploaded to iCloud for security. So I think it would be best to erase and re-install macOS Mojave? After that it just gets a little job of downloading and resetting the programs.
