iPhone problems

I dropped my iPhone out of my pocket and it landed with the glass side up. At first the screen had visible lines on it- but wouldn't turn on past that. Now (after about 5 minutes) it won't turn on at all. I have tried to power it down or back on but it won't do so and I am wondering if this phone is a lost cause.
