itunes original music CD downloads

Hello Everyone,

I recently downloaded a Music CD purchased at a store a while ago. When I downloaded to my itunes via my Windows laptop it shows on my recent downloaded playlists, however when I want to view it on my iphone or ipad it doesnt show up anywhere. Can anyone give some pointers as to what I could have done wrong or not done at all.
