I changed the name of my Local Wi-Fi Network however the old name still shows up as a network. Despite going into network prefs > Advanced > and deleting the old network from the list it's still showing up. Please advise. Thanks!

oooh! Turns out the wireless extender was not updated and was still broadcasting the old network name. All sorted now!

On your mac: hold the alt7option key and click the WiFi icon on the top menubar:
You see all visible WiFi including their frequency.
Most nets have 2.4 and 5GHz , perhaps you removed only one instead of both?
