Cannot verify or remove card payment info

I have hit against an unusual problem, due to an iCloud payment being declined. I have contacted my bank who confirm it is a merchant technical issue, my credit card is otherwise working fine.

However, I cannot add another payment method because I get error:

Payment Verification - One or more of your payment methods require verification

At the same time, I cannot verify the existing card, because I get message:-

Your Credit Card was declined, go to the iTunes Store...

I cannot remove the card, as I get the error message:-

Unable to Remove - Family Organiser requires at least one payment on file

So I am totally stuck!

Please help!

Try adding the new card and removing the old via https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage

If that also doesn't work contact iTunes Support and see if they can help you do it : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww (click on your country's flag, the country where you live, and which is therefore the country on the account ; click on Contact Support towards the top right ; click on Get Help under 'Talk To Us’)
