Sonnet Breakaway Puck EGPU

I got my hands on the Sonnet eGFX Breakaway Puck Radeon RX 560 External GPU a couple days ago, and after a day of troubleshooting (FunFact: if you're using it with a Mini you're going to need to disable FileVault.) finally got it up and running. However, it's making this somewhat ridiculous squeaking sound that I can really only compare to an old bicycle chain/cog in need of lubrication, or perhaps some effort on its part to communicate with the birds yammering on outside. This appears to happen regardless of the load it's handling.

Is there a fix for this? Already tried yelling at it.

Update: Took the thing apart (no hidden mice!) and lubed up the fan. Hooked 'er back up and the sound persisted. However, while fumbling around with it's precious insides the gpu cooled down significantly such that shortly after starting it back up the fan was unnecessary for a few minutes and therefore not running, and it was still making the sound of a thousand very small souls screaming in agony. Or, like, that shopping cart you pick just to make yourself as annoying as possible while grocery shopping. So, not the fan.

Hi,

I assuming that this sound comes from the capacitors of graphics cards. I'm experiencing the same on my eGPU Akitio Thunder2 with GTX 1050 Ti. I can hear something like you describe with little frequency shifting according applying load demand on eGPU. This sound will vanish after gpu fan starts working. It is not annoying me.
