iCloud won't sync

Hi, Hoping someone could assist please.

My iCloud is set up and registered etc. I have recently done an upgrade to my iMac, iCloud working fine on my laptop, but i can't seem yo sync my iMac anymore. All passwords are the same, i have logged out and logged back in again. I have restarted after doing so. I can see my info on the web version, but it's not translating to my machine.

Ive tried to find an online assistance but it only gives me a call option and from SA, it's a little out of my reach - need to be able to chat online like previously.

Looking forward to some suggestions - thank

you

Thank you - i don't have those checked on my macbook and it runs fine - however, after a lengthily conversation with apple telephonically it seems as though the OS i have running doesn't support iCloud - and as it's a late 2015 model doesn't recognise OS systems after El Capitan - uploading mojave and holding thumbs

Hey, TaitOddeveig-fiske.

I see that iCloud on your iMac isn't syncing your information. However, you can access through a browser, and I'm glad to help.

iCloud: Set up iCloud on an iOS device, Mac, or Windows computer -- This article provides the information and steps that you need to get iCloud to sync to your iMac.

How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac -- If the settings were all correct and the information still isn't syncing, reset the System Management Controller following the directions for your Mac. Test the issue once you're back to the desktop.

If this doesn't correct the problem, please describe the issue in greater detail. What type of upgrade did you complete? If you're seeing a message, please include the entire text if possible. The more information you provide, the better we'll be able to offer additional guidance.

Take care.

Hi Joseph

Thank you for the advice and assistance, I have completed all of the above mentioned tasks and still no recognition on my computer. It reads fine on my laptop - and I can see the web based but it still doesn't connect to my iMac :( I do need to access info from there. My iPhone still reads the info no problem and all on on the same user name and password.

Not sure if this helps...

I put in a solid state drive on my machine

OSX El Capitan 10.11.6

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)

3,2 GHz Intel Core i5

8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3

AMD Radeon R9 M380 2048 MB

In other documents when i go to manage storage I get the message to say "to free up storage open iCloud..." image attached

I have a 2TB Storage plan on iCloud and i have only used 2048 Gigs to date

I have tried to sign out and sign back in again but it doesn't seem to help.

My creative cloud and dropbox all and sync run perfectly

thanks look forward to some more feedback :)

See this article https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT203512

In your Mac system preferences > iCloud > the boxes of safari , mails contacts are not checked ? check them if you have created a web mail account , say example1@gmail.com and its mail address and password should be same as Apple ID , in system preferences > iCloud the Apple ID is always signed In .

You must configure mail application with iCloud server account and the mail accounts should be added in system preferences > internet accounts see this article https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mail/mail35803/mac

https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/contacts/adrb7e5aaa2a/mac

Note : if you are signed in with gmail address and password in an iPhone and Mac on the same network gmail messages will not sync , and if you are using say exmple2@icloud.com in both Mac and iPhone the complete iCloud data will be synced see this article https://support.apple.com/kb/ph2608?locale=en_US

I can't see in your screen shot that iCloud Keychain is set up see this article https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204085

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mh43699/mac

Prefer filling passwords using autofill in keychain access https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/safari/ibrw1103/mac
