Airdrop hangs on my mid 2012 MacPro running Sierra. Can High Sierra help?

Airdrop hangs on my mid 2012 MacPro which is running Sierra. Also ICloud not fully syncing Contacts to my new iPad. Can High Sierra help? I never updated when it came out in 2017 because all else was OK and I had found a workaround for Airdrop.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.12

It's always possible that a new Install or Reinstall could fix it, but on the surface Sierra doesn't seem to be the problem...

Unless it's Transfer between a Mac and an iOS device...

To transfer files between a Mac and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, the following minimum requirements have to be met:[12]

Running OS X Yosemite (10.10) or later:[4]

Running iOS 8 or later:[6]

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi have to be turned on for both Mac and iOS devices. (Both devices are not required to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.)
