I'm trying to restore my daughter's iPhone, but the 3.3 Gig file is taking a very long time to download in iTunes. So long, in fact, that the iPhone keeps timing out and getting kicked out. What can I do??

Depending on network speeds and other factors, it can be normal for the download to take some time to complete. According to If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support, "If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your device exits the connect to iTunes screen, let the download finish, then repeat step 3". The step 3 needed to be repeated can be found in the resource linked above as well.
