iCloud Storage does not update despite deleting all documents and files

Hello,

I have deleted everything from my iCloud Drive, but no change in remaining space has occurred. Originally, starting with 42.3GB used out of 50GB, I removed my whole iCloud Drive along with all the files which was taking up 32.2GB total, yet currently it still seems to display 42.3GB out of 50GB. How can I ensure that 32.2GB of documents get deleted?

Thanks, Saidarsh

See these articles https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mchlp1093/mac

https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/system-information/syspf5a64aa6/mac

In the second article open documents it should be empty .

Also you can verify in finder > iCloud Drive > Documents ( if you had already turned on iCloud Drive see this article https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204025

And also the box of desktops and documents are to be checked see this article https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206985 these are default settings , if you had already configured deleting the documents / files and moving them to trash , restarting the Mac and then emptying the trash removes them immediately .
