Green Line of Death Defect
A bright green line spontaneously appeared along the right side of my screen on a just-over-a-year-old iPhone X. Apple will only fix the defect if I pay $300.
iPhone X, iOS 12

If your iPhone is out of warranty, then yes, it will be a paid replacement. What is your question?
Why is Apple displacing costs for manufacturing defects to customers? Implied warranties still apply to big companies with disproportionate bargaining positions like Apple.
Apple has said this is a limited manufacturing defect that affects a small number of phones. You don’t speak for everyone here, and you obviously have not looked into this issue so please don’t comment unless you have something substantive to contribute. Meanwhile, I’m using this thread to report my issue and dissatisfaction with Apple’s customer service in resolving it, which is my right and is a common practice in these threads. I would also like to establish how common this issue affects customers and see if Apple has resolved it differently for others. I have read reports that Apple has fixed the issue for free for some even without Apple care. That would be evidence of discretion in fixing the defect and possible evidence of discrimination.
How can you prove that it's a manufacturing defect and not the result of the impact?
You have to resolve your issue with Apple. We are just fellow users and we cannot help you with that.
Your sarcasm and ill will is neither helpful nor appreciated. Kindly **** off.
So sad that you see things that do not exist.
This community is now for complains, I'm sorry. Read the rules.
My friend faced that issue and Apple replaced the screen for free because his iPhone was under warranty, he also had no AppleCare.
As far as I got, your iPhone is out of warranty. And there's nothing we could do.
